I Watch Death is first episode of the second season and the season premiere of Saving Hope.

After being stabbed in the heart, Alex has a profound experience in the liminal space, while a desperate Charlie and Dawn race against the clock to save her life. Joel is pulled to the ER to treat a suicidal patient that tests his duty as a doctor. Maggie makes a bold decision that changes her relationship with Gavin.

The episode opens with where Season 2 left off. Alex is on the operating table where Dawn and Maggie are desperately trying to save her life. She has an out of body experience and realises that Charlie can see her.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Joel is told that someone has stabbed Alex. He puts two and two together and realises that his sleepwalking patient was the one who stabbed Alex and runs towards the OR to look for Alex.

The alarm clock goes off and Alex wakes up what seems to be a completely different time and scene. She now has a daughter.

Back at Hope Zion, Charlie takes a swing at Joel, blaming him for Alex’s accident.

Reycraft steps into the OR and works with Dawn and Maggie to continue to save Alex. They are trying to repair the hole in Alex’s heart. Alex is declared stable.

Zack tells Joel that his patient has jumped off the building from the 8th storey.
