Gavin Murphy is a main character in the first, second and third seasons of the CTV medical drama Saving Hope. He is a psychiatry resident at Hope Zion, and the ex-boyfriend of Maggie Lin. He is portrayed by Kristopher Turner.

Background[]

Personality[]

Gavin is incredibly patient and understanding with everyone, often realizing that some patients he is called to do a psychiatric consult for are mentally ill instead of being physically sick or lying, such as the cases when he realized a woman had conversion disorder after a car accident and became unparalyzed.

He is close with most of the main cast, often revealing the other's prejudices and "judgey-ness" when helping to treat or consult on their patients, such as Joel's patient who had been treated harshly due to his many extreme body modifications. He is often described as being trustworthy, helpful, understanding, saintly, very "happy go lucky", or sometimes "puppy like."

He also dislikes people using the word "issues" to describe others who may need help mentally because he believes they do not have "issues" but rather a sickness that may need to be treated.
